happen就是动词的原形。

There is no saying what may happen .简直不晓得今后情况将会怎么样。

As it happens , i have left the book at home .偏巧我把书放在家里了。

Such a thing had never happened before .这样的事，过去从未发生过。

What he tells us is unlikely to happen .他告诉我们的，不像是真事。

I shall be interested to know what happens .我很想知道情况会怎样。

Things are happening so fast around here .这里的事情发展得这样快。

He realized at once what was happening .他一眼就看清了当时的情况。

There is no likelihood of that happening .没有发生那种事情的可能。

I can not remember precisely what happened .我记不准所发生的事情了。

形容词是happening，表示热闹的、时髦的意思，例如：

1.One trait that happening young rock bands share is their "bad" attitude.那些时髦的年轻摇滚乐团有一个共通的特质就是他们「屌」态度。

一、词性不同

1、happened：动词原形。

2、happening：第三人称单数。

二、用法不同

1、happend：happend是不及物动词，作“发生”解时，可指偶然的事故，也可指有计划或无计划发生的事。

2、happening：一般以事件、环境、形势等作主语，表示“某人发生某事”时，须以介词to 引出“某人”，作“碰巧”解时，其后须接动词不定式构成复合谓语，可由人称代词或无人称代词it作主语，与if连用则可使语气委婉。

三、侧重点不同

1、happend：用于一般现在时的复数主语。

2、happening：用于一般现在时的三单形式。

附近；[fù jìn ]；释义：nearby； neighbouring； vicinity； proximity about ；例句：；Southbound traffic tailed back for twenty miles on the M5 near Bristol. ；在布里斯托尔附近的5号高速公路上，南行的车辆排成了绵延20英里的长龙。；Quite a few people were milling about, but nothing was happening. ；有不少人在附近转来转去，可是什么事情也没有发生。；Dangerous undertows make swimming unsafe along most of the coastline. ；由于存在着危险的下层逆流，在大部分海岸线附近游泳都不安全。

happen是不及物动词，没有被动语态，因此不可说what is happened。
